At the time of writing this advert, there are forty one Chimaera’s for sale on Pistonheads. A variety of specifications, colours and prices, so why consider this car.

Besides its fabulous colour and contrasting magnolia interior, It has many other good reasons to consider this car. And they all related to its mechanical and structural condition and improvements made to the car by the last owner. First of all, it drives very well, it has a light progressive clutch, power steering, and vented discs all round with aeroquip brake hoses that offer a firm pedal and reassuringly strong brakes. It is equipped with the wider 5 litre wheel rims that are fitted with a matching set of Toyo’s with good tread depth. The performance from its 4 litre engine is smooth and tractable and very easy to live with. It’s been with its last owner since 2005 and the car is five owners in total. The radiator has been updated to an all alloy high capacity unit along with new ACT coolant hoses. All the electrics work, and it will be serviced before delivery and supplied with a new MOT. It is also HPI clear, has no insurance markers, two keys, a factory handbook and a file of receipts.

And most importantly, as everyone knows, rotten outriggers are a costly repair on these cars. So I am pleased to confirm that it had new full length outriggers fitted both sides in July 2018 at Neil Garner TVR. I have also checked the rest of the chassis and dealt with the surface corrosion detailed on the last MOT advisory along with new number plates and brake service.
