The interest in Blue Ovals continue to grow, as those of us who lusted after fast Fords / RS’s etc, can now afford a weekend / modern classic. The values of many classic Fords have climbed away from those of us with “normal” means, including our coupe’s big brother the Racing Puma. Our lovely 1.4 16v, is a great introduction to modern classic ownership, an investment / collectors opportunity or even a super rare daily driver.

Our beautiful Puma comes with a comprehensive history of 10 Ford Main Dealer Services. Low mileage (is there a lower mileage one out there?), and is in beautiful condition.

The original Ford Puma Coupe was launched in 1997 (ours is a 1998 example), in ‘97 the Puma won Top Gear’s Car of the Year. Over 2,000 examples were registered along side ours in 1998. According to “how many left” only 116 of these are left and only 26 of those are on the road, the other 90 are sorn’d, we assume they are put away as investments, part of collections or sadly slowly rotting away.

S98 XOL was first registered on 28/8/1998, having covered an exceptionally low 13,587 miles from new, that’s around 450 miles a year.

It was supplied new by Bristol Street Motors (Ford Main Dealers, Birmingham). Its original main dealer number plates are still on the car.

Our stunning Puma is presented in virtually unmarked Radial Red, complimented by unmarked (looks brand new inside) Silverstone interior.

Our lovely Puma’s original service book there are 10 service records (all by Ford Main Dealers). We have just had it serviced at Perrys Ford at 13,586 miles.

Its MOT history is lovely, and backs up its very low mileage as genuine, the most recent does not expire until 3/3/2025. A number of old MOT certificate from new are in the Puma’s file. We will of course put a fresh MOT on it for its lucky new owner.

The original alloys are unmarked and sport 195/50/15 tyres, the fronts are new and with 8mm of tread on the rear.

Standard and safety equipment was comprehensive on Puma, ours is equipped with optional air conditioning (just had new condenser, replacement pump and re gassed), this is accompanied by: drivers air bag, front electric windows, bi xenon headlights, power height adjust (drivers seat), power steering, remote central locking and 5000 RDS cassette player.

The rare Puma comes with full book packs, including original wallet, 2 working remote keys, spare wheel, jack, wheel brace and after market sigma imobiliser.

In the cars file, there is an original and rare catalogue for the 1998 Ford Range and Puma specific dealer brochure.

It will have an independent 90+ point pre delivery inspection, for the new owners benefit. It is of course HPI clear and a full HPI report will be available to potential purchasers.

Many thanks for wading through our lengthy description, we believe it’s better to describe our cars fully. It is not in our interest to waste your time or ours with inaccurate descriptions. It does of course have the odd age related imperfection (which used car doesn’t), but it really is better than many cars that are only a couple of years old. An appreciating car, for the enthusiast, collector and investor.
