NOT TAKING AWAY FROM ROAD USE STRIP CAGED ETC. IN MY OPINION CARS ARE MADE TO BE DRIVEN IM NOT A COLLECTOR OR ONE FOR CAR SHOWS I WANTED SOMETHING TO USE. THAT WAS FAST AND WELL BUILT / NMS BUILT THE CAR ORIGINALLY EVERYONE IN THE COSWORTH WORLD KNOWS THERE ONE OF THE BEST SO MADE SENSE TO KEEP IT WITH THEM / NEW BUILD SPEC BELOW 600BHP / Over 30,000 spends @ NMS alone plus ALOT more / IT WAS ORIGINALLY IMPERIAL BLUE PAINTED AURIS BLUE AT SOME / UNDER THE HOOD WAS A MESS BLACKED OUT AND CHIPPING / SO DROPPED THE ENGINE TO NMS FOR REBUILD PAINTED THE ENGINE BAY BACK TO IMPERIAL AND FIT SOME NEW SILLS TO THE CAR / CAR IS ON A Q PLATE 2 Owens development turbo / AEM engine management system (this model now discontinued but is the better than all the replacements for tweaking) / Bosch ID 1100 fuel injectors / Winged and baffled sump holds 6.5L opposed to 3.8 std Spec R / AEM CD7 / 12 switchable boost setting Made 420BHP on 4 will switch upto 12 and that was only 80% throttle / Ran 520BHP on 6 again 80% 2 Personally wouldnt run it on 12 never have done approx 700bhp on max boost / Run in for 700 miles before mapping 2 Been around Oulton park 8 laps and 4/5 laps at Bedford AD and only on low boost setting 4 / Then maybe 400 miles road use / RUNS A DREAM PERFECTLY / I WILL BE DOING ANY TEST DRIVES / FEW VIDEOS IN ACTION JUST ASK / BEST SOUNDING COSSIE YOULL EVER HEAR / Engine stripped, cleaned and inspected to move forward with the rebuild. Crank has checked for size and polished to make good 0.25 O/S. Block has been re honed to give the correct finish and deck face re machined. Pistons and rods were good for size have been re used with motorsport rings fitted. The btm end has been re assembled with a these components, Mahle Motorsport bearings, high pressure oil pump and all new gaskets and seals. Cylinder head has been fully overhauled with new valve guides, 16 new OE valves all seats re cut correctly, the face machined to give the correct finish and built up using the original springs and hardware. All new seals and gaskets used. All 4 inlet port lugs have been re welded on as these had all cracked through. The ports have been slightly re worked to give the correct spec. NMS solid lifter 272 cam shafts fitted with Arrow followers and shim kit. This has all been shimmed to give the correct clearances. Cylinder head fitted to the block with a WRC head gasket and long studs re used. New belt and gear fitted and engine timed to 114/114. Water pump etc re used. Fabrication of bigwing sump/ oil control system for track use.
