Lotus Exige S1 - 1 previous owner - 8k miles

This is a very special Lotus S1 Exige. What makes it special is the fact that it has just 1 previous owner and covered only 8000 miles from new and is almost entirely original. Just some small cosmetic parts have been changed and the original items are supplied.

The vehicle was purchased on 7th September 2000 by Mr S Mitchell from Lotus Aberdeen. Lotus Aberdeen carried out the pre delivery inspection at that time and then the first service (with free labour) a month later, with 972 miles having been covered.

In February 2001, the 190bhp upgrade and sports exhaust were fitted by Lotus Edinburgh at 3276 miles. They subsequently serviced it twice and fitted new discs and pads, along with front dampers.

The Exige was then sold in January 2004 to Mr W Clark, by Adrian Blythe who also serviced it at that time.

Mr Clark then put the car into storage where it remained until September 2024. It was brought out only for servicing and the odd MOT. During that time, it covered only 2883 miles.

The V5 still shows just 1 previous keeper and all service history and paperwork dating back to the PDI is present, along with both sets of keys.

As part of sales preparation, outlander has had the Exige serviced by Lotus Glasgow and fitted a new set of Yokohama AD08RS tyres, light weight grooved discs with alloy bells, mintex brake pads and had a new MOT carried out.

Outlander has also fitted a new black motorsport rear diffuser, but the original item is included. Only minimum recommissioning work has been done in order to keep the car as original as possible.

The vehicle is obviously in excellent condition throughout. However, it has intentionally been kept in an unrestored condition. It's still on the factory Koni suspension and only the bare minimum has been done to get the car 100% functional and safe. There is some micro blistering to the front clam and passenger door near the window, probably as a result of the car sitting under a cover in a lock up for 20 years. However, the interior is like new, as is the engine bay and front service bay. There is essentially no wear and tear to the car, purely some deterioration from storage. This can easily be rectified by the buyer or by me on behalf of buyer, but its only original once and I wanted to leave such decisions to the buyer.

This is an outstanding S1 Exige. Given that just 604 of these cars were produced and that a good portion of them were either tracked, modified extensively, had Audi/ Honda engines fitted, or crashed, this is a very unique opportunity to acquire the definitive Lotus.
