Previous owner was my neighbour who owned it since 1984 (can be evidenced) . Driven once a week to church on Sunday and special family occasions as he was a builder. Sadly passed in 2015 and I bought it off his son in april 2018.

Car was off road and garaged since approx 2007 from illness and since acquiring I have fitted a brand new fuel pump, drained oil fuel and put in 2 in tank filters, new engine bay fuel filter, 2 new air filters (included i sale), and had the alternator reconditioned. However unforseen circumstances meant i was not able to do any more work to it to date.

Will need recommissioning to be Road worthy I.e all rubber/perishable things like hose pipes, tyres, fluids, brake overhall etc. usual stuff for a car thats been stood a while. Some paintwork on passenger wing is needed where some paint peeled due to car cover sticking on to it on a very hot day? which i have been quoted £200 for. Other than that the paintwork can be used as is in oem condition. or you can go all out on a full restoration. How long is a peace of string when it comes to working on classic cars?

Some surface rust on floors but it seems solid with a prod of a screw driver and is just surface rust. I do have 2 brand new full floor panels bought from david manners group to include with the car anyway if you wish to do a full nut bolt restoration.

Good original complete car with v5 logbook in my name (5 prev keepers including last 2 which were father and son)

only aftermarket item is a Toad alram and immobilizer with remote locking.

HPi data checked on time of purchase and was all clear.

Original birmingham supplied car. Some invoices, original sales brochures and Haynes manual all present 2 sets of keys

worth putting back on road, arches scuttle panel , pillars are solid. too good to strip for parts

Good spec with full cream leather to compliment the period brown paint, auto, all electrics air con, original stereo, vynil roof with sunroof

Delivery can be arranged at buyers expense uk only at approx £1.00 a mile plus base charge of £50 so e.g 100 miles would cost £150.

I was planning on restoring this and passing it on to my son as a future investment but have no idea when il get around to it so rather see it go to a good home. if it doesnt fetch close to the asking price il just keep it.

These are becoming rarer by the day and given that Jaguar Cars ceased production of the XJ it will only go up in value.

may consider a cheaper px to aid the sale, either modern day small engine car or another classic e,g bmw E30 325i sport, bmw 635 Csi , 840 ci , no fords or vauxhalls please. but ideally a straight sale is preferred .
