2017 LOTUS ELISE

Offered for sale from the WOW collection is its rather special Lotus Elise 220 Sport.

Registered on 27th March 2017.

BACKGROUND

Purchased at 3115 miles from previous and only owner before me via Hofmanns of Henley. The car had been part of a collection and had never seen the rain nor been on track (confirmed by previous owner and selling dealer (Hofmanns of Henley).

The previous owner spent a great deal of time and money developing it into the ultimate 220 Sport. The work was carried out by PJS Sports Cars of Burton upon Trent.

The modifications were;

* 2bular exhaust manifold and sports catalytic converter and full stainless steel system.

* Adjustable Nitron dampers and springs all round including helper springs

* Adjustable anti roll bar

* Rear brace

* TRD induction kit

* Full suspension ride height and geometry set up

* Remap

These modifications significantly increase the power and improve the handling. Notwithstanding these modifications the previous owner never took it on track, nor out of the garage when it rained.

SPECIFICATION

The car is finished in striking metallic white with a black leather trim and contrast white stitched interior. The car benefits from the following factory options;

The car is fitted with Advan Neova tyres on the lightweight forged alloys.

The rear toe links (a known weakness on these cars) were replaced with 'Spitfire' toe links by Purbeck Sports Cars on 5th February 2021 along with a Momo Silver spoke Tuner steering wheel (original is included). Cost £1288.76.

REASON FOR SALE

The car was bought with the intention of using it extensively on track. It joined the 'WOW' Collection where it was included in a multi car heated garage. My tarmac rallying programme (in an MX5) was quite intensive and along with business and family commitments did not allow for much use of the Elise. The Elise did a memorable trip to Anglesey circuit where it performed faultlessly and was a joy to drive. It also did a wet track day at Goodwood in early 2023. This was the only time the car has been out in the rain. On wet weather racing tyres it was among the quickest cars there despite giving away many hundreds of horsepower to other cars.

Lack of use and continuing development of the rallying programme means it would be better in somebody else's garage rather than mine. I know I am going to regret selling this car. Please no timewasters, auctioneers or trade offers. Proof of identity and funds will be needed before viewing.
