2011 Aston Martin One-77 RHD 1 of 77 HK Supplied
The One-77 was a result of a project in which Aston Martin set out to develop a road car that eclipsed every Aston that proceeded it, in terms of performance but still retaining unparalleled looks. The car became the first true hypercar produced in the Gaydon era, marking the start on a complete new era for Aston Martin. Penned by design studio at Gaydon under the direction of Marek Reichman, the car made its first public appearance at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, the car was clocked in a Saville Row cover, with glimpse of the car visible. The full picture was revealed at the March 2009 Geneva Motor Show, where a metallic blue mockup and rolling chassis with its entire powertrain were on display. The finished car made its shown to the world in late April 2009 at the Concorso d'Eleganza Ville d'Este on the shores of Lake Como, where it won the design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes. Fusing advanced technology with stunning design, the million-pound, 7.3 litre V12 One-77 was the fastest-ever Aston Martin, with a top speed of 220 mph. It represents what is possibly the world's most desirable automotive art form. At the time of first customer car being delivered Aston Martin claimed the engine to be the most powerful production naturally aspirated engine, this combined with an immensely rigid lightweight carbon fibre monocoque clad in a seamless bodyshell handcrafted from aluminium at its heart, made for an unbelievably competent car. With all 77 examples sold out almost instantly, production of One-77 was completed in 2012.
