History of The seriously Rare S204

Number 007 of only 555 cars for the Japanese market only

The S204 was developed over the course of 2004 (S203) to 2006 (S204). The car was built by STI to chase after BMW’s M Series vehicles and as a result the car produced 320ps and 422nm of torque thanks to a larger VF42 Twinscroll Turbo and a factory precision balanced engine.

Only 555 cars were built in total finished in Grey, Blue, White and Red, A mere 49 S204'S were produced in grey, this would be the last time the iconic number 555 would be associated with a Subaru. Solberg had a large role in the suspension and tyre development of the car with his suggestions enabling the firm to produce its most stable set-up yet. The S204 was also fitted with the fastest steering rack fitted to a Subaru at the time, with a ratio of 13:1. STI Pink adjustable suspension, and anti roll bars were also fitted along with bespoke BBS 8. 5 x 18 Inch wheels and Titanium exhaust back box exclusive to the S Series cars. STI’s designers turned to Recaro to design and produce a competition-style seat that offers support at high cornering speeds, but are also comfortable for daily use. Recaro put together the first fully reclining competition seat, consisting of a dry Carbon Fibre shell wrapped in Grey Alcantara.

This S204, Number 007 was first sold to Subaru’s home market and registered in November of 2006. It resided in Japan by the same one and only owner until it to the UK.
