Just 40k miles, 1 former keeper, and amazing service history with 24 stamps.
EQUIPMENT
Dark Blue Mica paintwork, Black/Blue cloth sports seats, 16-inch alloy wheels, 5-speed manual transmission, AWD, Momo leather steering wheel, Leather gear knob, Height-adjustable driver’s seat, Electric windows, Electrically-adjustable door mirrors, Rear spoiler with integrated third brake light, Front fog lamps, Subaru cassette radio, Tailored Turbo 2000 carpet mats, Remote central locking and immobiliser, Space saver spare wheel, Spare key.
EXTERIOR
Finished in Dark Blue Mica this low mileage example presents very well indeed and, quite remarkably, the paintwork appears entirely original all round. As you might expect with all-original paint there are a few small blemishes to report on close inspection, namely a dusting of frontal stone chips to the bumper and leading edge of the bonnet. A couple of small scratches on the front bumper and one minor blister on the nearside A pillar further evidence the car’s honesty. Elsewhere all the lights are clear and without any signs of moisture ingress, there’s no lacquer peel in common areas such as the bonnet scoop or vents, and all the black plastic trims still look fresh with no sun damage or fading. Better still, aside from the fitment of a subtle stainless exhaust (the original is included) the car remains factory-standard throughout.
INTERIOR
The interior is also in superb condition with no notable wear to the seat bolsters or fabric. The dash and centre console show few signs of use and pleasingly the original Subaru cassette player remains fitted having never been replaced with an aftermarket head unit. Other commonly worn items such as the steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake also present really well with excellent textures to the leather. The carpets are equally pristine and are still protected in the footwells by a full set of original Turbo 2000 overmats. Everything works as it should and the boot area is also very tidy.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
With only 40k miles under its belt and an incredible 24 stamps in the original service booklet – 23 of which are from Subaru main dealers – the car remains in excellent mechanical fettle. The car has been religiously serviced since new and pleasingly has never been modified, the only aftermarket addition being a stainless steel exhaust as fitted by the current owner back in 2004; the original backbox is also included with the sale.
Out on the road this low mileage example still feels as tight as a drum and of course it’s a real treat to drive. Under the bonnet the engine bay is well presented, not overly dressed but in very good original condition with no signs of any accident damage or previous poor repair.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The 16-inch Subaru alloy wheels all present in their original paint finish and still look great with only a handful of minor age-related blemishes and marks to note. They are shod in Pirelli tyres all round with ample tread remaining at each corner. The brakes are also in good order, bringing the car to a halt swiftly and in a straight line.
HISTORY FILE
This lovely low mileage Impreza Turbo was supplied new to its first keeper by Cheam Motors (Ewell) Limited in October 2000. It has now driven only 40,660 miles in the hands of just two registered keepers. The current owner purchased the car way back in 2004 – as an approved used vehicle also from Cheam Motors – with 17k miles on the clock. By this point the Impreza had already received 6 main dealer services, and fortunately the current owner has continued with the car’s fastidious maintenance routine. The original service booklet is fully stamped with 24 entries, the only non-Subaru stamp being from another main dealer in 2015. The last service was carried out in 2020 around 300 miles ago and included a cambelt change. Now due on time, a fresh service will be carried out at Subaru upon sale for the new keeper’s peace of mind. Details of the service history are as follows:
