Overview
Being small, lightweight, nimble, and still packing a powerful punch is just the kind of combination we dream of when the hankering for a proper hot hatch takes hold. After centuries of scholarly debate and many a learned academic lecture, the consensus is that putting a powerful engine in a little hatchback leads to the biggest smiles and heartiest laughter known to science. It is practically impossible to emerge in a bad mood when you have just been piloting a bright red Clio 182 along a leafy B-road.
And this is a particularly special Clio 182. It is the Trophy model, of which only 500 were produced for the UK market, and this car was number 500 of them. ‘500/500’ is proudly stamped in several places, so you won’t fail to notice it. The car was given away in a raffle organised by Renault, and there is a photograph on file of the original owner collecting it from the Renault F1 factory in Enstone. So it is a piece of motoring history, as well as a rocket-propelled tiny little two-door.
The car remains in superb condition throughout, with a lustrous shine to its bright red paint, and a beautifully clean interior. It is in a beautifully original state, with its interior remaining original, and few mechanical changes, other than some new exhaust pieces. A well-stamped service record accompanies the car, as well as plenty of invoices for parts and servicing over the years.
This extremely desirable 182 Trophy is a fabulous example of the model, and comes ready with a long, advisory-free MOT, as well as plenty of accompanying documentation. It has clearly been well looked after by previous owners, and is now just waiting to be enjoyed to the full.

Summary
Clio Trophies have long been lauded as one of, if not the best hot hatches of all time. This is the last one produced with low mileage and in fantastic condition. As such it should be as great an investment potential as it is to drive.
So if you want to relive the glory days of the hot hatch, back when cars could be small, lightweight, powerful, and — most importantly — fun, this is one of the very best examples you’re likely to find.
To arrange a viewing, click the 'Book Viewing' button located under the 'Place Bid' button. Viewings can be booked up until the day before the auction ends, after which the option will change to 'Contact Seller' for further enquiries. This seller is located in Gravesend, Kent.
