The 2018 BMW M2 Competition, considered by many to be a significant upgrade over the original M2, itself a highly regarded member of the BMW M stable, boasts the S55 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six engine, borrowed from the M3/M4. This powerhouse delivers 405 bhp and 406 lb-ft of torque, enabling a rapid 0–60 mph sprint in a little under four and half seconds.
