Overview

Whilst Lotus may be best-known for their stripped-back, no-holds-barred approach to lightweighting, performance and driver engagement, they do know a thing or two about making slightly more supple, yet no less impressive vehicles, also.

The Evora and its development, the Evora S, as seen here, were brilliant examples of such a vehicle. A 2+2 seating arrangement meant that you could carry 2 friends in the rear of the car (provided they were small enough) whilst a softer suspension setup meant that the ride quality was superb for its day, and even now - in this era of over-stiffened hot hatches and performance cars - seems like it was leaps-and-bounds ahead of its time. The steering, too, was widely lauded by the motoring press upon launch, and is a reminder of why hydraulic power steering will always reign supreme over electronically-assisted systems.

That ‘S’ designation stands for Supercharged, with the Toyota-supplied V6 gaining extra grunt thanks to a Harrop supercharger system, bringing the headline figure to a healthy 345bhp, whilst the optional Sports pack - as seen on this example further enhanced the driving experience.

This particular Evora S is finished in arguably one of the best shades for the model - Laser Blue - and boasts an impeccable service history, having been serviced annually without fail from new, irrespective of mileage covered. In other words, jump in, add some fuel, and have fun!

• The steering wheel, shifter and other high-traffic areas remain in very good condition with only some slight patination noted to the shifter knob
• Very light wear noted to the outer bolster on the front seats
• The trims on the rear of the front seats are scuffed, most notably on the rear of the passenger seat
• Both leather door sill covers are lightly worn
• In the rear, the luggage compartment presents in tidy condition
• There are no reported faults or issues with the interior systems or switchgear

Exterior

• Laser Blue exterior gives this Evora S an eye-catching appearance
• The bodywork looks to be in excellent condition throughout, with no noted impact damage or reported accident damage
• The paintwork also presents well overall, with the usual smattering of stone chips to the front end, and a few more notable stone chips visible upon closer inspection
• Both front wings are showing bubbling around the indicator housing
• Elsewhere, there is a scratch on the front edge of the bumper, on the nearside front wing above the arch, and on the offside front wing to the rear of the wheel well
• The underside of the front bumper is scuffed, as is typical of a low-slung vehicle such as this
• The upper edge of the windscreen is chipped, and there are a number of stone chips on the roof
• All four wheels present well, though the nearside rear wheel is slightly kerbed
• At the rear, there are a few small marks to the outer edges of the diffuser, but nothing that would not be considered commensurate for a car of this age and mileage
• Overall, this is a very well-kept, but used and enjoyed example of the Evora S in an attractive hue that will certainly garner plenty of attention wherever it goes

Mechanical

• 3.5-litre supercharged Toyota-sourced 2GR-FE engine, which produces 345bhp
• Six-speed manual gearbox

• There are no reported modifications to the engine, chassis or transmission

Summary
