Overview

Anything which can justifiably be described as ‘bonkers’ is sure to pique the interest of us here on the auctions desk. So when you waft a 507 bhp V8 under our noses and sprinkle it with seven seats and a cavernous boot, you know we’ll want to take a look. 

And here it is: five metres of car. So it’s big enough for an average-sized trip to a DIY shop on a Sunday morning, and it’ll manage the family outing to your nearest sandy seafront in the afternoon too. The rear-facing seats which fold away below the boot floor allow maximised load capacity when stowed, and for the occasional transportation of smaller-than-average sized humans, who are even provided with three-point seatbelts and headrests. True luxury. 

Towards the other end of the car, the occupants are treated to even more luxury in the form of bird’s eye maple veneers, a multi-disc DVD changer, and endlessly enjoyable mechanical folding cupholders — a well-chosen option by the first owner. 

The car is finished in a timeless shade of Tenorite Grey metallic paint, and features Amaretta leather upholstery. It remains very suavely styled and would not look out of place in the work car park or at an upmarket hotel. 

But we must admit it’s the V8 we’re lusting after, all 6,208 cc of it. Hearing it roar, pumping out 500 bhp, and sending this to the rear wheels is truly a sensation to be experienced. In short, this is a car which will put a smile on your face no matter where you’re heading.

Exterior

• Long and low, with a practical estate tailgate

• Finished in Tenorite Grey metallic paint

• The AMG styling pack includes a front splitter and side skirts 

• The paint remains very well presented 

• Only light signs of wear, including on the lower edge of the front splitter

• There are a few blemishes to note: a shallow dent on the nearside rear door, some scuffs on the nearside rear bumper, a small dent/paint repair just above the offside rear light on the quarter panel and a very small touch-up on the lower tailgate

• Otherwise, the body panels look very well preserved throughout 

• No obvious damage or corrosion that we could see 

• 18-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels

• The MOT advisories note that the front tyres are cracked

• The rear tyres were replaced in June 2024 and have around 6mm of tread remaining

• The seller tells us that there is around 4mm of tread remaining on the front tyres 

• Wheels very well presented, with only minor marks that we could see

• Chrome badges front and rear

• The underside of the car looks clean, the vendor reporting that the car has been stored in a garage, and has seen little use in Winter 

Mechanical

• Top speed limited to 155 mph, 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds

• The engine cover features an AMG plaque, with the engine builder’s name

• The seller tells us that the car has wanted for nothing during his ownership and notes that a gearbox service was carried out in Aug 2022 and that the front brake discs and pads were replaced in April '23

• At the most recent service in Nov 2024 the car was serviced, including changing the engine oil and filter

• The garage noted that the rear brake discs and pads are worn 

• The seller tell us that the car starts easily every time, and sounds excellent thanks to the sizeable V8 

• They inform us that it accelerates strongly and smoothly, and stops in a straight line

• No mechanical issues noted
