Overview
Three pedal Camaro alert! We have a three pedal Camaro alert people, this is not a drill! Yes, you read that correctly, not only is this a 6.2-litre V8 (aka “the one you want”), but the hero who first specced it ticked the “yes, I would like to change gears myself thanks” box. Hnnnnnng.
We’re fine, we’re fine, just give us a minute… Right, okay. So, the Camaro. It’s one of the big beasts of American car culture. Alongside the Mustang, it was a progenitor of the ‘pony car’ movement and remains an icon for anyone who loves a muscle car. Of course, in more recent history, the modern Camaro has also taken on the legendary mantle of Bumblebee in the Transformers film franchise, making it a hero car for all generations of petrolhead. Although this example has been styled to look a little more like Bumblebee’s evil Decepticon doppelganger, a decision we can definitely get behind.
It’s rare to find one on these shores – particularly a facelifted Mk6. You see, the Mk6 was quite heavily revised, with improved rear suspension, a stiffer bodyshell and a whopping 90+Kg dropped out of the kerbweight. Add in the fact that this is a manual V8 and you should start to understand why this car excites us so much.
Ah yes, the V8. What a thing. More than six litres of fury and as close as you’ll get to a proper NASCAR sound on the roads in the UK. It’s glorious. We defy anyone not to grin and giggle like a kid when prodding the loud pedal.
With such an attractive specification, the enduring appeal of a massive V8 married to a manual transmission, and wonderfully low mileage (it’s averaged less than 3,000 miles per year), we reckon this is the perfect way to scratch that muscle car itch.
Just be prepared to take the long way home as you seek out every tunnel in the land.

Summary
In case you hadn’t already gathered, we love the Mk6 Camaro. From the aggressive styling to the frankly ridiculous 6.2-litre V8, everything about it screams ‘fun’. And that’s something that too many cars are missing today.
Will it be the last word in apex-clipping, or lap-time chasing? No, of course not, don’t be silly. But it will be much more fun than almost anything else you could drive. And you’ll look back at it every time you park it. You’ll probably take 1,000s of pictures of it. People will smile when you drive past, they’ll come up to you and ask about it.
Like all muscle cars, the Camaro is about extracting joy from every yard of road, every second of driving, every decibel of yowling, howling V8 perfection. And good gravy, does it ever do that…
