Overview
You don’t need us to tell you about the Nissan GT-R R35. If you do, then you’re probably on the wrong website. But while you’re here, have a good gander over the photos of this stunning example of what will surely go down in history as one of the greatest ICE cars to come out of Japan in the 21st century.
We certainly can't think of anything else that has come from the Land of the Rising Sun this century, and is powered by squashed dinosaurs, that comes close to the breadth of ability, sheer pace and street cred that the GT-R offers. It’s a frankly incredible machine, engineered with the kind of precision, quality and fanatical attention to detail that would make Isambard Kingdom Brunel swoon.
However, with its bomb-proof over-engineering and lively modification scene, finding one that hasn’t been “fettled” can be a challenge. Thankfully, what we have here is a wonderfully unmodified example of the breed, with fewer than 15,000 miles on the clock. To top it all off, it’s finished in shimmering Bayside Blue – easily the best colour you can have your GT-R in.
Extremely well kept, with a comprehensive service record, this is just what you want an R35 to be – a comfortable grand tourer, a track weapon and a barnstorming supercar all rolled into one. We sometimes forget just how staggering this car is. A mid-engined exotic may seem more seductive, but a GT-R will still be laying down personal bests long after a fragile supercar has exploded in a shower of apocalyptically large garage bills.
You can easily make an argument for these late R35 GT-Rs being amongst the greatest cars ever made. And you know what? We wouldn’t disagree.

Overall the paintwork is in very good condition, with a couple of light scratches and blemishes and a few paint chips, but nothing that would concern us

Similarly, the car’s glass elements and light lenses all show very well, being clear and clean with no chips or cracks we could discern

Summary
Nissan GT-Rs aren’t built, they’re engineered, and that’s an important distinction. This is no mass-market, production line car with an example rattling out the doors every 30 seconds. Each engine is hand built and crafted by skilled craftspeople. The sort of craftspeople who could probably tell you one of your valves is a thou out just by looking at it – from the other side of the workshop.
It’s this passion, this insane pursuit of perfection, that has made the GT-R such a legend. And maybe, in some ways, a victim of its own success. Some may dismiss it as “too obvious”. Do not listen to these people. The GT-R is a spectacular drive – you won’t find a car that can go faster or harder and have such a wide range of abilities, not at this price. You could argue, not at any price.
And this is a sublime example, in a cracking specification, presented with genuinely low mileage, a solid service record and completely unmodified. That’s the GT-R equivalent of finding a befanged hen. Make sure you don’t miss it.
