Overview
Most people would walk past a BMW coupe parked on the street without even noticing its existence. Especially a silver one. It might register vaguely in their peripheral vision as a fuzzy car-shaped object, and they wouldn’t remember it.
But anyone in the know would immediately clock the understated ‘M’ badges on the wings and the lightweight carbon fibre roof panel. And they’d think to themselves ‘that thing’s got a ruddy great V8 under the bonnet. And over 400 horses charging around inside it’.
This is the beauty of such a car: its styling doesn’t look particularly outlandish, or dated, or unusual. So you can enjoy driving it for driving’s sake. Nobody’s going to stare, or get in your way, or particularly care that you’re the custodian of four litres of V8 loveliness. Except those of us who know.
And this particular M3 comes with a pleasantly well-stamped service booklet. It looks like the car’s three owners have each had their own trusted mechanic, so there’s consistency in its history. It comes with an MOT which will see you through to next June, and it even meets London’s emissions requirements.
So if you’d like to be able to enjoy everything that’s good and fun and exciting about driving, without attracting any attention, then this M3 is the car for you.

Summary
This generation of M3 was the only one ever fitted with a V8 engine, so it’s a rare breed. When mated to the DCT gearbox, it delivers a compelling blend of day to day usability and full-bore sports coupe.
Very much an under-the-radar car in silver, this one has a couple of cosmetic blemishes but looks like it will deliver an awful lot of bang for your buck.
